You nailed it with this line: "When you see product investors get rewarded, you become an innovator. When you see cost cutters get rewarded, you become a cost cutter." That is the whole story of corporate cultural drift in one sentence. I can relate to that!
Really appreciated the observations and learnings from KR and your Bloom board experience. So many good lessons and reminders for leaders in those words. Thanks for sharing!
Timing plays a major role in building and managing. Think about PREDIX(TM) in today's AI environment, where trillions are being spent. I believe PREDIX was the forerunner, the first AI company, way before OpenAI and Anthropic.
Higher Ed would benefit from thinking about the customer first, then the product (curriculum and experience). Organize the schools around the customer (student) experience rather than the traditional departments and structure. It would seem to be an effective and efficient way to deliver value to the student!

Humility and curiosity are my two favorite traits for friends and coworkers. Apparently ideal for board members as well!

Hi Jeff,
I just came back from 50th Reunion at MIT. Lisa Su gave a great Commencement speech on risk and perseverance.
You would enjoy a conversation with President Sally Kornbluth around continuous learning, risk taking and leadership.
Cheers -Doug
