Thank you Jeff for this lovely tribute. Comes from the heart as always. Ed was a friend to you and all of us felt the same. He protected us, made us feel comfortable, relieved the stress with his smile, stories and humor and always gave us advise when we needed him. A loyal friend and business partner.

May he rest in peace.

God bless you and your family

What a beautiful tribute. I remember him exactly the way you descibed . He gave out energy in a way I haven’t seen again !

Great post! As a workforce graduate, I always have friends asking me, "What do you miss?" It's who you miss, and my Ed Galanek(s) were Freddie, who was the parking garage leader, and who was the first person I saw each day. We solved most of the world's problems. And Ira, who cleaned our space each day. Best sports analyst ever. His insight would serve my beloved Cleveland sports teams better, perhaps, than the professionals we have!

Love this. I remember spending a great day with Ed while we were working on Hot Seat. What a storyteller! What a loyal friend, too. He adored you Jeff, even after you took him straight up Mount Kililmanjaro (and he got altitude sickness!). May his memory be a blessing.

How fortunate you were to know Ed. And what a great example of how the "authenticness" of others always stands out over the more polished and curated.
